Virginia Quality Birth to Five (VQB5) is a nation-leading statewide quality measurement and improvement system that includes child care, family child care, Head Start, and public school preschool programs across the Commonwealth. In this session, learn more about VQB5 and how Virginia measures quality in Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) settings, and supports all educators to engage in a continuous quality Improvement cycle annually.

Virginia's early childhood learning initiatives focus on key classroom practices including the use of high-quality curriculum, assessment, and resources to support classroom learning. In this session, learn more about each of these classroom learning topics, and explore resources to engage all educators and leaders in deepening their understanding of early childhood classroom learning.

High quality child care programs feature enriched experiences that are linked to greater achievement and success in school and in life. This session will focus on the basics of Child Care Health and Safety, as well as the resources and supports that are provided to providers and families through the Office of Child Care Health and Safety.

Take the opportunity to meet representatives from some of Virginia’s 9 Ready Regions, as well as Early Childhood VDOE team members. Bring your questions from earlier sessions, or your interest in learning more about early childhood care and education.

This session is designed for educators seeking proven strategies to navigate the challenges of the profession while building a fulfilling and rewarding career.
