About me
I am a Family and Consumer Sciences teacher at Manassas Park Middle School, where I have been teaching since 2011. I work with sixth, seventh, and eighth grade students, helping them build practical life skills while fostering creativity, confidence, and a love for learning.
I earned my Bachelor of Science in Education in Family and Consumer Sciences from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 2007, and later completed my Master’s degree in Career and Technical Education from Concordia University Portland.
Throughout my career, I have been honored to receive the VAT FACS Outstanding New Teacher of the Year Award in 2014, as well as being named the Washington Post Teacher of the Year recipient for my school in 2022.
I truly love what I do. I am passionate about my students and committed to creating engaging, meaningful experiences in the classroom. I also enjoy collaborating with and supporting fellow educators, with the goal of making teaching more joyful, impactful, and inspiring for both teachers and students.
